Delete your everything account
everything is provided by E for Everything Limited, a company incorporated in the British Virgin Islands (company number 2207801).
This page explains how to ask us to delete your everything account and the personal data associated with it, and what we keep afterwards and for how long.
Before you ask
If you still can, export your private key first.
In the App, open Settings → Export private key and keep the key somewhere safe. We cannot recover, reset or provide your private key (Privacy Policy §2, §12). Your wallet exists independently of us and can be reached using a private key you have exported (Privacy Policy §6). You do not need the App to request deletion.
How to request deletion
-
Email us.
Send your request to privacy@everything.co, preferably from the email address you use to sign in to everything, and ask us to delete your account and the personal data associated with it. If you cannot send from that address — for example, you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email — write from another address and tell us the address you sign in with (Apple shows the relay address in your Apple Account settings) and your public wallet address, so we can find the account.
-
Confirm it is you.
We may need to verify your identity before we act on your request (Privacy Policy §12).
What happens next
From our Privacy Policy, section 12:
To exercise a right, contact privacy@everything.co. We will respond within the period required by the applicable law, and in any event within one month of a verified request unless the request is complex, in which case we will tell you and explain why. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will not use verification as a way of collecting more data than necessary.
Two practical limits. First, we cannot delete anything recorded on a public blockchain. Second, we cannot delete or provide your private key, because we have never held it in a form we can use.
Your wallet and the blockchain
From our Privacy Policy, section 3.3:
Blockchain data is public and permanent. Transactions you broadcast are recorded on a public ledger that we do not control and cannot alter or erase. Anyone can view them, and analytics firms can and do link addresses to identities. Deleting your App account does not remove anything from a blockchain. This is a property of the technology, not a choice we have made.
Deleting your account does not move your funds either: we have no technical ability to move assets in a wallet you control (Privacy Policy §2).
What we keep, and for how long
From our Privacy Policy, section 10:
These are maximum periods. We delete or anonymise data sooner where it is no longer needed. Data recorded on a public blockchain is outside these periods and outside our control; we cannot delete it.
